Action Ventures is the training division of Action International Ministries Canada.
We believe in the power of the Gospel expressed with excellence through the arts.
"I am not ashamed of the Gospel for it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone that believes."
BRIDGE ARTS INTERNSHIP
Nine Month Internship Program
You are invited
We are excited to gear up for the next Bridge Arts Internship team opportunity in Sept of 2023 For over 40 years we have been involved in training young adults to share the Gospel creatively and under the anointing of the Spirit of God (Is 61:1-5). We are not ashamed of the Gospel (Rom 1:16) and believe in raising a new generation of Christ-followers that are passionate about living out the Gospel.
For years we were under Venture Teams and these teams were called "Friends & Followers". These days we function under the umbrella of Action International. In our history as staff, we have trained well over 60 nine-twelve month teams. Many of those individuals have continued into roles of great influence globally; at home, in the marketplace, in ministry around the world. We give God the glory!
In our society in North America there is a great need for discipleship and mentorship among young adults. Among artists and creative people there is little opportunity to express God-given creativity. We feel called as a staff to use missions as an opportunity to disciple and proclaim creatively the beauty of our Creator God. The sky is the limit!
This is a nine-month team that is ideal for a gap year between high school and post-secondary school. If you are between the ages of 18 and 30 and are passionate about the Gospel and the arts, or maybe you feel the need to make your life and gifts count, this could be for you. It will challenge, inspire and help you grow. It includes spiritual formation, music, drama, art, illusions, dance, telling your story, puppetry, preaching, reaching the urban poor, and just about anything that you can offer!

SUMMER MALAWI TEAM
28 Unforgettable Days!
Are you looking for an opportunity to serve on a different continent this summer? Are you 18 to 30 years old? Are you longing to grow in your relationship with Jesus?
You are invited to join us and others this summer to proclaim Jesus in Malawi - a very poor country in southeast Africa. It is called "the warm heart of Africa" for good reason. The people and culture are warm and welcoming. Yet there is great darkness there that shows itself in hunger, disease, the demonic and child marriage. ACTION International has been working there for a while now and has a Bible College where former witch doctors are becoming Pastors. Only Jesus can transform lives like that. It is such a privilege to be with them this summer. .. being Jesus to the multitudes that need physical and spiritual food. I asked our translator there why witch doctors are so successful there in the villages still. He said quietly: "It's because they are there". Maybe you are called to be there this summer... to be Jesus among them.
The Team You will train with a small team of individuals who have been approved from different parts of North America. The team will be led by someone from AV and partnering with our hosts in Malawi. There are other ACTION full time workers in the area including a Bible College.
You will stay and serve near Nchteu most likely in a walled compound,
A typical day
... Will include personal time in the Word of God and team worship.
... Fellowship and food with our hosts. Prep for ministry during the day.
... Travel to a village. Often, introduction by village chiefs.
... A Gospel presentation using the arts (music, drama, illusion, art, testimony, short Gospel message, invitation and prayer...) .
... Serving food and medicine to the people.
... Return to Ntcheu. Debrief. Rest, team time and fellowship.
... To bed.
What to expect
... excellent training (we have decades of experience on our staff)
... to be challenged personally in your walk with God
... many stretching experiences as you work in a team context in a foreign culture
... friendships and memories that will last a lifetime

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What are the current ACTION COVID-related Policies?
1. RECEIPTS: The return of donations only applies if the trip is canceled due to COVID restrictions or government regulations. If donations were made in cash, credit card, cheque, or money order they will be returned in kind. In other words; cash/cheque will be returned by cheque, credit card by credit card, and money order by money order.
2. QUARANTINE: Costs of quarantine will only be covered by ACTION'S insurance if a team member gets sick with covid and has to quarantine in a hotel. Quarantine-on-arrival, when the team member is not sick, will not be covered through ACTIONS insurance but will need to be covered by the team member.
3. VACCINATIONS: Not required by ACTION but highly recommended by most countries and airlines.
Tips on raising funds?
1. Pray and ask God to lead you.
2. Talk to your local church leader(s) about your desire to serve in this way and get him or them to pray for you. It is important that you get the support of your local church.
3. After you're application is approved we will give you some ideas about fundraising. In this day of Social Media, it will be important to wait until you are approved.
4. Writing a prayer letter is usually one of the most effective ways to raise funds. You will need to bounce it off of our office so that we can add the ACTION logo, charitable status information, and pledge cards.
5. Post it online or mail it to your closest friends and family.
If you would like to discuss the options please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
