VIRTUAL MISSIONS

3 months - two zooms per week - get out of the house during COVID!

Location:  Philippines

What are the objectives?

To share the Gospel and equip Filipino youth at a weekly youth event in order to reach their friends for Christ. By joining one of these virtual teams you will help youth in the Philippines to hear the Gospel, respond, get equipped, discipled, and share the Gospel in their own community of Pampanga.

What you will do?

At no cost, no travel and no shots, from your home, you will help to lead a Filipino youth group, lead zoom games, interact, share your faith story, use drama and music to share the gospel, lead a devotional, be part of breakout groups to share, and pray together.

Will there be training?

We will review important training materials on a Saturday afternoon such as objectives, expectations, and commitments. We will also take time to debrief after every session.

What dates are we looking at?

Contact us if you are interested and we will settle on suitable dates.

COVID has been a challenge for all of us but here is an opportunity where you can serve in one of the poorest countries of the world.

What can you expect?

... excellent training (we have decades of experience on our staff)

... to be challenged personally in your walk with God

... many stretching experiences as you work in a team context in a foreign culture

... friendships and memories that will last a lifetime

... to grow in your abilities and life skills using the Chichewa language, music, drama, dance, art, and other forms

What does the basic Timeline look like?

April 1 - Deadline for applications

June 15 - Support Deadline

July 2-8 - Training in Cochrane (near Calgary)

July 9 - Travel to Malawi

July 28 - Return from Malawi

July 29-31 - Debrief in Cochrane and Farewell

Support Required?

We expect it to be $3900 per person but costs are subject to change with the present-day fluctuations in costs.

Tips on raising funds?

1. Pray and ask God to lead you.

2. Talk to your local church leader(s) about your desire to serve in this way and get him or them to pray for you. It is important that you get the support of your local church.

3.  After you're application is approved we will give you some ideas about fundraising. In this day of Social Media, it will be important to wait until you are approved.

4. Writing a prayer letter is usually one of the most effective ways to raise funds. You will need to bounce it off of our office so that we can add the ACTION logo, charitable status information and pledge cards.

5. Post it online or mail it to your closest friends and family.

Using the arts to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world.

About

Our Mission is to train, disciple and inspire followers of Christ, revealing Him to the world.

Our Vision is to raise up a new generation of believers that are known for their love for Jesus and passionate about using their gifts to share the Gospel.

Our Belief is that God is raising up a new generation to be radical, surrendered, lovers of Jesus, taking the Kingdom of God into every sphere of life.

Our Focus is to train and facilitate short-term outreach opportunities using their gifts, including the arts, personal testimony, prayer ministry and practical work projects.

Our Core Values:

  • Jesus: The center of all we do and are. John 14:6

  • Spirit: Honoring the work and fruit of the Holy Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23

  • Service: Serve rather than be served. Matthew 20:28

  • Discipleship: Learn God's truth in order to teach others. 2 Timothy 2:2

  • Practicums: Facilitate leadership, teaching and logistics for global outreach. Matthew 28:19,20

  • Church: Create loyalty to God's instrument for reaching the world. Ephesians 4:15,16

  • Team: Equip others to work together in unity. Romans 12:4-5

  • Arts: Develop tools to effectively and publicly articulate our faith. 1 Corinthians 9:22-23

  • Partnerships: Partner with ministries worldwide. Revelation 7:9

  • Integration: Apply team ministry experiences to all spheres of life. John 17:18

  • Youth: Become differences makers. 1 Timothy 4:12

  • Grace: A safe place to learn and grow. Psalm 145:8

  • Wholeness: Holistic development of our entire being. 1 Thessalonians 5:23

Our Alumni are people in leadership roles of international missions on every continent. People in dynamic outreaches in the difficult places of this world. Pastors and lay people in churches who are fully engaged in the Great Commission. Godly moms and dads raising up Christ followers in a challenging world. People who are passionate and purposeful as they influence the world in business, government, entertainment, media, education, arts, family, and the Church.

Our Uniqueness: People often tell us that they appreciate the fact that where ever we go with our teams or bands we have close ties to local churches. They also appreciate the fact that we have over 50 years of this kind of ministry experience among our present 3 staff members. Other unique aspects include:

  • Our 9 month team is longer than most short term mission opportunities

  • The intentional mentorship offered

  • We provide an internship opportunity that goes far beyond the 'in and out' of most church, school or organizational mission trips

  • About a third of our alumni from our Bridge Teams end up in fulltime Christian service for a prolonged period of time

Ephesians 3

And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know (experiencially and intimately) this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
